Day one of the community effort project, “Extreme Makeover to Elderly Widow’s Home,”  is in the books and work begins again today at noon!

The volunteer team emptied the entire house and completely filled up one dumpster yesterday.  They also moved furniture and other belongings to a pod for safekeeping.  A very special thank you to our volunteers: Yolanda, Samantha, Robert, Callie, Don, Andy, Dave, Eric, Nancy, Jackie, and Mike.

At noon today, we will start pulling up carpet nails out of the floor, scraping walls, washing, and scrubbing all surfaces…so the hard labor begins. Anybody who has a bucket and a scrub brush is more than welcome to join us! Work will begin tomorrow, August 9th, at 9:00 a.m.  Actually everyone is welcome to join us, scrub brush or not.  Contact Deaconess Suzanne or the church office at 847-359-1549 for the address of the work site.

There were several pieces of furniture that we had to throw away. If anybody would like to contribute to replacing these items please contact  Deaconess Suzanne.
