Dekalb, Newtown, Orlando, East Peoria, Mattoon, Boston, Houston …these are all cities that were under siege either from shootings or natural disasters. And in each of these cities, God helped people pull through the crisis with the aid of the LCC comfort dogs.

Many of us have heard about and have even seen the LCC comfort dogs, but not many of us have seen them in action. Have you ever wondered …What they do when they arrive onsite? How do they engage with the victims? How do the victims react? What is the job of the handler? What stories do they have to share?

All these questions and more will be answered at the Women of Faith ministry event at Immanuel Palatine on Thursday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m.. Please join us as Dona Martin, Director of the LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry, shares her stories about the comfort dogs and the places they have been. This is a wonderful opportunity to surround yourself with your fellow sisters in Christ while learning firsthand how God used these dogs to serve people in crisis.

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us”. 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7.
