What is The Community Meal’s mission?
“Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” – Romans 12:13
Our mission is to show Christian hospitality by providing a welcoming place, nourishing food, a listening ear, and acceptance to all regardless of faith beliefs or economic means. The simple act of sharing a meal together gives hope to the elderly, lonely and hungry. We strengthen friendships and inspire a community that will be inclusive and loving towards one another.
A Thank You Following the April 27, 2017 Meal:
Joyful servants is all I can think of when Immanuel Lutheran Church hosts the Community Meal. Everyone greeted me with a smile and “how can I help?” With 38 volunteers embracing their tasks, God smiles and so do all the guests who join us. The joy and love felt in your gathering space was palpable. The food was delicious, the children’s activities were fun and the therapy dogs bring all kinds of healing. Hope to see you again in July….
With Gratitude,Mary & Sandy
