What is The Community Meal’s mission?
“Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” – Romans 12:13
Our mission is to show Christian hospitality by providing a welcoming place, nourishing food, a listening ear, and acceptance to all regardless of faith beliefs or economic means. The simple act of sharing a meal together gives hope to the elderly, lonely and hungry. We strengthen friendships and inspire a community that will be inclusive and loving towards one another.
A Thank You Following the October 20, 2016 Meal:
Dear Pastor Warren, Pastor Donald and all the wonderful volunteers,
Mary and I would like to thank you for hosting the Community Meal. Your enthusiastic support was in the air. Guests and volunteers were happy to be at the meal with good food & a welcoming church serving the community. Our plate count was 161 and we made 40 carry out meals. Total served 201! For a first-time host, that’s awesome. You also broke the volunteer record - 36 ILC volunteers with smiles on their faces and servant hearts. You inspired everyone at the meal. We appreciate all your efforts to make The Community Meal a success. We will see you on January 12, 2017!
With heartfelt thanks,Mary & Sandy
