Funerals
The death of a friend or loved one is one of the times in our lives when we are desperately hungry to hear the proclamation of the hope that we share in Jesus. The Pastoral Team (Pastors, Deaconess, Music Director, Administrative Assistants) and members of Immanuel are ready to do whatever we can to help people through this difficult time of life. Funeral planning should be made in consultation with the pastoral team as early as possible. Whether the funeral will be held at Immanuel, a funeral home or at graveside, the details and service time will be set in cooperation with the family, the pastoral team, and the funeral director. To avoid conflict with other scheduled activities the time should never be set until its suitability has been confirmed by the church office and the pastoral team. Providing care for the bereaved is part of the mission of our congregation and is available to all of God’s people, regardless of membership or affiliation with Immanuel Lutheran.
Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:3-4
