An Update from Steven…

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by my table at church so far to discuss the cemetery project with me. I am happy to report that many people have donated and volunteered to help out.

For those of you who haven’t had a chance to stop by and learn about the project, I will be leading a team to raise and realign several gravestones at Union Cemetery in Palatine on Saturday May 21st and Sunday May 22nd.

Union Cemetery dates back to the late 1800’s under the joint proprietorship of Palatine’s Immanuel Lutheran Church and St. Paul United Church of Christ. There are many family members of our congregation buried there.

Please contact me via the church office  to learn more details and donate or volunteer to help out!

Thank you!

Steven Mueller, a member of Immanuel, is working towards achieving his Eagle Scout rank in 2016 and has chosen to fix up Immanuel’s Union Cemetery as his Eagle Scout Project this spring.  Project work days will be held on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22.

Many headstones are in need of raising and realignment. Working with Immanuel’s Cemetery Board, Steven will lead a group of people to do the repairs.

During the month of April, he will present his project in church, have a table in Fellowship Hall showing project details, and will be fundraising for project expenses.

Please stop by Fellowship Hall after weekend services during April!  If you have any questions, please contact the Immanuel office at 847-359-1549 or
