Trail_Life_awardsImmanuel Lutheran’s Trail Life Troop will hold their first meeting on Monday, April 4 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Trail Life is open to the community and boys do not need to be a member of Immanuel, or any church, to join.

“We would like to welcome any interested boys to join us on April 4 for our first meeting and get involved with Trail Life USA. We are a scouting group that focuses on building godly men, by allowing boys to be boys in a safe and secure environment, while developing positive relationships with Christian men,” said Trephina Bedell, Troop Committee Chairperson. The troop will be meeting bi-weekly on Monday nights, as will Immanuel’s American Heritage Girls Troop, a sister program to Trail Life. “We wanted to make it convenient for families with multiple children interested in scouting,” adds Bedell.

Trail Life USA is a Christian Outdoor Adventure, Character and Leadership Program for boys and young men and Immanuel is honored to support and back a troop based right here in the heart of Palatine. Trail Life USA serves boys and young men from kindergarten through 25 years old from anywhere in the community.

On Scout Sunday, February 7, Senior Pastor Tom Acton presented Trail Life Troop IL-0412 with their very own flag, beginning the Christ-centered scouting program at Immanuel. The flag was a gift from Immanuel’s American Heritage Girls Troop, a sister program to Trail Life.

Trail Life USA is a national organization that focuses on developing boys and young men, providing character building opportunities, outdoor adventures such as camping, hands on learning, and non-traditional sports such as archery, rock climbing, fishing. The men teach the young men, and the young men teach the boys. The focus is on the youth, learning responsibility, integrity, and growing through teaching and learning to see God’s hand in everything. He is the center, the Rock, of the Trail Life Program.

Immanuel Lutheran Church & School is located at 200 North Plum Grove Road (at Wood Street) in downtown Palatine, just two blocks east of the Palatine Metra Train Station.  For more information or to register for Trail Life, please contact Trephina Bedell at 847-359-1936.
