On December 7, American Heritage Girls® held its Winter Court of Awards where family and friends gathered to see the hard work and dedication the girls have put in this year so far. Thirty girls, kindergarten - fifth grade, received over 150 badges among them! There were also three ladies that received their sports pins and 18 Service Stars were awarded. “Tenderhearts” need 5 hours for every Service Star and “Explorers” need 10 hours for every Service Star.
Some of the badges the girls completed were: Sign Language, Horsemanship, Fire Safety and Building, Cooking, Kid Care, and Fishing. Hours of preparation and hard work go into each one of the badges and the girls also have to be able to speak to the work they have done and present it to the troop as a whole.
Their hard work doesn’t stop there! Currently the troop is working on their “Toys and Games” badge as well as their “Special Delivery” badge. Each of these badges explores the history, and then how things have changed as civilization has moved forward. In addition, the girls learn how to letter write as well as how to develop a hobby that they can carry the rest of their lives.
American Heritage Girls® is open to any girl age 5 and in Kindergarten through age 25. We welcome parents, grandparents, and their daughters to join us in furthering their relationship with God through teaching them the gifts He has given each one.
We welcome you to join us. Help us grow the next generation rooted in God’s Word!
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
